Alcohol License approval

We have now been granted our premises license that allows the sale of alcohol to guests and the provision of music.

This application was more straight forward than the media attention made out, but it was tremendous publicity for which we are grateful !

Guest can now enjoy a cold beer, lager or white / rose wine and a small selection of spirits, red wine and cocktails if they wish.

Relaxing at Clover Spa and Hotel is now even easier ... we look forward to serving you

Oh no! Have I got to be totally naked?

This is the most common question we get asked...

and to be honest there is a wider range of acceptability than we first thought, so our original no swimwear allowed policy, which was considered negatively by the majority of the UK population has been softened. We believe that this will encourage more people to try clothes free recreation and the more people who do, the more accepted it will become.

In a nutshell:

We are predominantly a naturist, clothes free environment

Guests may wear swimwear if they wish

All guests will confirm that they are happy with mixed gender communal nudity

Inappropriate behaviour will result in offender being asked to leave

In more detail:

One or two people have noticed a softening of our no swimwear allowed policy and have quite understandably asked for an explanation.

We have been established for well over two years now and have a good reputation as a quality clothes free facility, without any sexual connotation. Existing customers obviously know what it’s like at Clover Spa & Hotel but potential customers often ask for clarity over the clothing issue and it’s not quite as clear as you may think or as they tried to make out in the Hotel Inspector programme.

Clover Spa and Hotel is not a clothed environment, or totally unclothed, guests and staff do not come through the door take off their clothes and walk around totally naked until they go back out again. It is very much a mix, the staff have to be clothed whilst working, many of the guests wear a towel or a robe some of the time and occasionally Ladies feel more comfortable wearing something.

In the Spa area nudity is the norm but some guests prefer to remain covered with their towel, in the garden when the sun is out nudity is virtually 100%. In the lounge and bar areas probably a third of our guests wear their towel or a robe. So allowing newbies or first time visitors to wear swimwear isn’t going to change the balance much but it may well encourage more people to try this style of relaxation. For established naturists it is all too easy to forget how daunting it is to go naked in public the first time, this should make it easier. It will also allow couples where one partner is keener than the other to give it a go, an opportunity to try, in a quality, safe environment.

The most important thing as far as I’m concerned is behaviour, and on that, our policy remains the same, have fun, relax and enjoy the company of others but don’t invade their personal space, make unwelcome suggestions or do anything that could cause offence.

Clover Spa and Hotel offers customers choice, if you want to be naked that's fine, if you want to try this out but are a little unsure that's fine too, you can remain clothed until you have decided one way or the other. Some naturists want everyone naked which is as extreme as clothed people wanting everyone clothed, we at Clover Spa and Hotel offer the choice and a live and let live attitude to nudity and clothing.

Hotel Inspector Really Works!

Since the Clover Spa Hotel featured on Channel Five's "Hotel Inspector" our trade has soared to new heights. Proof, if it was needed, that Alex Polizzi and her team's advice has so far been successful. Clover Spa Hotel owner Tim Higgs comments "its a tough time to start a niche business but being on the show and with the record viewing figures, millions more people now know about us which is really helping to turn things around." Thanks to Alex's advice, Tim is spending much more time in the promotion and marketing of the Hotel and this is proving to be valuable time spent. "Alex suggested that I reach out to more organisations and I have been busy doing just that" explains Tim. With a new look website and an easier on-line booking system the future for the Spa and Hotel is looking rosy.
There is still a lot to do and the Hotel is encouraging day Spa visitors to come along too, this all adds to the friendly and relaxed atmosphere which the Clover offers.

Clover Spa Hotel awarded Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2012

For the second year running we have been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for our outstanding service and facilities.

Regrettably TripAdvisor have re-categorised us as a Speciality Lodging due to our clothing not essential policy despite admitting that we are a hotel. I guess that the whole World can sleep more comfortably now that big brother TripAdvisor is taking on the role of protector of moral decency...
